CyberMummy11 Linky
This year’s CyberMummy has come and gone! What an amazing event that brought together around 400 bloggers, numerous sponsors, speakers, volunteers and helpers to celebrate blogging and all that comes with it. From the Sponsors room to the Recharge Room, bloggers were networking, laughing, making new acquaintances and renewing old friendships.
The event was kicked of by Sarah Brown, former Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s wife, who shared with us her love of children, Twitter, her charity work and the importance of having a family balance. Bloggers attended workshops about marketing their blog, learning video blogging techniques, taking in blogger to blogger inspiration and, in one of the more popular workshops, how to take great pictures no matter the situation (or camera). The conference was closed by the ever-popular, Crowdsourced Keynote where 11 bloggers shared their magnificent writing with the masses.
CyberMummy co-founders and organisers, Jennifer Howze, Susanna Scott and Sian To put together an amazing conference and for the 2nd year in a row, bloggers from all over the UK came together. It was bigger and better than last year so we can only imagine what next year’s conference will be like. You won’t want to miss out, that’s for sure! There are more people to thank but Jen, Sian and Susanna will share more with you next week.
To give everyone a chance to highlight their own personal CyberMummy posts, feel free to link up any of your posts to share with the blogosphere. Now lets see…next year…what will I wear?

Sponsor: PictureBox
PictureBox are delighted to be sponsoring CyberMummy 2011 – the biggest and best parent blogger event in the UK. We’ll be hosting our own stand at the conference where you can watch movie clips and demo our service, eat delicious popcorn, grab a goody bag and win some fantastic prizes throughout the day.
PictureBox are delighted to be working with ten top parent bloggers over the next twelve months to highlight their PictureBox player – a brand new online app that allows movies to be streamed onto iPad, Samsung Smart TVs or Blu-ray players, laptops or any computer connected to the internet. For £4.99 per month you get unlimited access to 28 movies and each month 7 of the oldest movies are replaced with 7 new ones so the choices are constantly being updated. They also have regular ‘themes’ – for example, August’s theme is ‘Schools Out’ and will contain fantastic movies to keep kids entertained over the school holidays.
Mat Snead at PictureBox says:
“The PictureBox service is all about entertainment for the whole family. We bring a wide range of movie genres into the home, including massive Hollywood blockbusters, with cutting-edge on-demand technology. Most importantly, we do all that at a fantastic price for those who have to juggle with the challenges of a family budget. CyberMummy offers us a great opportunity to showcase the PictureBox brand and build a strong affinity with parents both comfortable and engaged with online technology. We can’t wait to meet you!”

Speaker: Jay Mountford- Photography Workshop
CyberMummy is proud to welcome Jay Mountford, aka @cosmicgirlie and www.mochabeaniemummy.com, as a CyberMummy11 presenter in the Photography Workshop session from 12:15-13:10. Join Jay where you will learn how to express your creativity and take eye-catching photos. Please BRING A CAMERA for hands-on instruction led by Jay. Now here’s a bit more about Jay, in her own words:
In January 2009, I picked up my first dSLR. In January 2010, I’d started my own photography business. It works and I damn well love it, specialising in weddings, maternity, newborns/children and corporate events. I’m very lucky to have worked with some excellent professional photographers and mentors, guiding me and teaching me everything I need to know.
Jay is a prolific tweeter and one-of-a-kind blogger who has set the blogging world on fire with her weekly #SilentSunday photo challenge. If you want to learn more about taking the best photos possible, don’t miss out on her session. AND REMEMBER TO BRING A CAMERA (or camera phone).

Ready, Steady, Play with Savlon
Playday is the national day for play, celebrated this year on Wednesday 3 August, 2011 and is supported by Savlon.
Did you know that nearly three quarters of children (73%) say they would like to play outdoors more where they live, while a similar amount of parents (72%) want more time to play with their children or to take them places to play.
From analysing risk and developing the ability to make decisions for themselves, to building self-confidence and imagination, making time for children to play outdoors is important, and also fun!
As part of a long running campaign to get communities more engaged with outdoor activities, over 800 Playday events will be taking place nationwide this August as the country takes time to celebrate the importance of play for children. Events range from jubilee style street parties, festivals in parks or village greens, mass adventures in woodlands and parklands, to public events at community venues and back garden play dates.
Savlon encourages families to get their children outdoors and experience the adventure of play this summer, with Playday providing the perfect occasion to embrace the opportunity. Check out www.savlon.co.uk

Help us put together the playlist for the Three Party!
Bloggers road-tripping to #CyberMummy11 have been atwitter about what they’re listening to on the drive, but a big musical question remains: what are we going to listen to at the party?
The Three party will kick off right after the Crowdsourced Keynote on the mezzanine area of CyberMummy 1 but you can’t have a full-on, let-your-hair-down, take-embarrassing-pictures knees-up without the right tunes.
Three are standing by with their iPod at the ready so tell them what puts you in the party mood. They’ll cram as many of them on as they can.
You never know: it just might lead to dancing…
Here are three we’d like to hear:
- by Pink
- I by The Black Eyed Peas
- by Perez Prado (you know, the one from the Guinness ad)
So whaddya think? Do we need some Madonna? Some Katy Perry?
Post your suggestions or tweet them with #CyberMummy11 and #MumsonThree.

What everyone is wearing in London this Saturday…
So chic! You’ll pick yours up at registration. Just a reminder – registration opens at 8:30 and runs until 9:25. Our advice: don’t bum-rush the desk at 8:30 sharp when we expect queues. Try to stagger your arrival throughout that time. There will be coffee available throughout the registration period in CyberMummy Central so whenever you arrive, you’ll be able to go through, grab a cup and chat with fellow bloggers and brands.
It’s getting close…
