There are no stupid questions. The more you ask, the more we’ll add…
Q: Will there be childcare?
A: Babes in arms are welcome to attend with mum and we’re arranging a space for breastfeeding. Unfortunately we’re not able to provide childcare for older children.
Q: Is there Internet access?
A: Wifi is included in your ticket price. There are a limited number of power sockets so charge your batteries before you come.
Q: I can’t afford the ticket price. Any suggestions?
A: We have early bird tickets available at a reduced price – £80 if you book by December 31st. You can also get someone to sponsor you for the conference. (Read “How do I get sponsored for CyberMummy11?” below.)
Q: How do I get a sponsored to attend CyberMummy11?
A: One way to get your attendance paid for is to ask a company to sponsor your trip to CyberMummy11. This can be mutually beneficial in many ways – you get your costs covered to attend to this fab conference where you meet other bloggers and further your skills, and the sponsor gets a blogger to help them engage with other bloggers. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Yet while this is a relationship between you and your sponsor and unconnected to the organisers of CyberMummy11, we do have guidelines for what you can do for your sponsor on the day, as well as some tips. To find out more, read on.
Q: What can I offer a sponsor?:
A: You will be the company’s representative at CyberMummy. You can be their eyes and ears, act as their main networker and help them to develop ways to engage with other parent bloggers. There are many services you can provide. It is important to clarify to your sponsor that they are sponsoring you as an individual and that they are not official sponsors of CyberMummy11.
On the Day:
*You can wear sponsor branded clothing and/or badges to the event.
*If someone directly requests information about your sponsor, talk to them, take down their details and offer to forward on anything else they might need after the conference.
*You can include your sponsor’s name/logo on your regular business cards. Why not invest in some uber-cool Mini Moo Cards? At around £10 for 100 cards, they’re a very inexpensive way of promoting your blog.
*You are not permitted to hand out brochures or promotional materials relating to your sponsor, their products or services.
*No samples are permitted on the CyberMummy premises. Anything found will be confiscated and the blogger/sponsor will be responsible for the cost of removal.
*We reserve the right to ask any blogger, who is found in breach of these guidelines, to leave the premises.
On Your Blog:
Your blog is your space- so here, anything goes. However, we do suggest that you agree in writing with your sponsor exactly what you are offering them in return.
Here are a few suggestions:
*You may want to offer your sponsor your consulting services on a separate project for a specific period of time.
*You can provide advertising space on your blog.
*You can create content on your blog in conjunction with your sponsor such as a post, competition or review.
*You can offer to guest post or create unique content for your sponsor’s own website/blog. If you are looking to forge a long-term relationship with them this is a great idea.
Q. Can I throw a party with my sponsor?
A. If you’re thinking about hosting a private party with your sponsor, you must abide by these guidelines:
* Your party must be held at a separate venue. All the meeting space at the event will be used for official CyberMummy conference events only.
* Your party must take place outside of scheduled CyberMummy hours. CyberMummy runs from 8:30 to 20:00.
* You must otherwise adhere to the sponsored blogger guidelines, including those about handing out brochures or promotional material related to your sponsor at the conference
Q. Do I need to be sponsored to attend?
A. Absolutely not! There’s a lot of talk from bloggers about finding a sponsor, but you don’t need one to attend. While some folks will be sponsored, the majority will not. Just buy a ticket and show up on the day!
Q: If I’m unable to use my ticket, can I get a refund?
A: Unfortunately, we’re unable to issue refunds, but if you cannot attend notify us and we will help you to sell your ticket. We must be notified of any transfer of tickets 48 hours before the event. No transfer requests will be accepted after this time.
