A Great Success!

Book you place at CyberMummy 2011On Saturday 25 June 2011, more than 400 people attended CyberMummy at the Brewery in London. Delegates enjoyed sessions on photography, writing, social networking, blogging best practices, working with companies and charities, and other topics. In addition to the sessions, brands including HP, Disney, Glam Media, Three, Dettol, and Nurofen and many more connected with bloggers – showcasing their products, staging giveaways and forging relationships. In P&G’s Recharge Room, bloggers had massages, hairstyling and makeup applications in between sipping smoothies and relaxing on chic white sofas.

Facebook’s Lord Richard Allan opened the conference talking about the company’s plans for the future, before Sarah Brown delivered the keynote address. In the afternoon The Lady editor Rachel Johnson had delegates laughing in recognition about the pitfalls of writing about your private laugh. Then 11 bloggers presented posts from their own blogs in the popular Crowdsourced Keynote. To top it all off, the conference then migrated to the bar at the official CyberMummy Three party with wines provided by Naked Wines.

The Independent wrote about the conference: “The so-called mummy bloggers are establishing literary careers, making their names as social activists or simply earning extra money through social media. Rather than just discussing issues affecting fellow mothers, the bloggers actively use the net to change women’s lives.”
