From Tiny Acorns…
For Sale at CyberMummy 2011…outstanding books from one of our very own!
Tim Atkinson is the author of several school text books, a guidebook for new dads and the acclaimed mental-health novel Writing Therapy. He also edited of the anthology, Tiny Acorns, which brings together the work of a varied and talented group of new and established authors. Taking their inspiration from Tim’s creative writing e-course, the authors – including well-known parent-bloggers Carol Smith, Sandy Calico, Nickie O’Hara, Steven Blake and Susan Mann – create a immensely entertaining and diverse collection of work ranging from life-writing, poetry, flash fiction and short stories. All the proceeds from the sale of this book are being donated to the BBC Children in Need Appeal.
As well as being a powerful and moving story of a young girl’s battle with depression, Writing Therapy is a book that asks profound questions about the nature of creative inspiration and the relationship between fact and fiction. Described in one review as a ‘self-help book for writers’, Writing Therapy is also the story of how books get written and was nominated for the Young Minds fiction award 2009.
Fatherhood – The Essential Guide is Tim’s latest book and is full of up-to-date information about all stages of the parenting process. Written by a dad for other dads, the book talks the reader through the the first stages of planning a family to pregnancy and birth and right up to the first three years of a child’s life.As Tim says, ‘most childcare books are addressed to mums and dads might get a chapter somewhere if they’re lucky. Now they’ve got the whole book.’
You’ll be able to purchase Tim’s books at CyberMummy 2011. If you’re especially lovely, he might even autograph them for you!
