Speakers at CyberMummy: Belinda Parmar
I’m delighted to announce another fantastic addition to our already awesome line-up at CyberMummy. Belinda Parmar was voted one of 2010′s Great Female Technology Entrepreneurs by Computer Weekly and has segued from corporate player to internet guru extraordinaire.
Belinda is the founder of Lady Geek. Lady Geek helps technology and gaming companies understand women. Our team consists of marketing and research experts, industrial designers and gender experts.
Belinda set up Lady Geek because she was frustrated (and bored) by the way technology companies design and market products. Despite the fact that women account for 4 out of every 10 tech purchases, technology and gaming companies continue to patronise professional women by ‘pinking up’ and ‘dumbing down’ their products and marketing.
Belinda has spent her career in marketing and advertising. She has been advising and partnering with technology clients for over 13 years. Her clients include YouGov, IBM, Cisco and Hewlett Packard.
Belinda is a mum of two, lecturer at Syracuse University, winner of APG and D&AD awards and writes for The Times. You can find out more about at http://ladygeek.org.uk and follow her on Twitter @belindaparmar
Catch Belinda on the noon session about influence and stats.
